In school I was asked to write,
In a journal wrapped with wire.
What is it that when you leave
Others to think of you
Do you aspire?
Now I was perhaps all of sixteen
And hardened by pain.
Atracked by my own mind,
Driven half insane.
The teacher was one
Who held my notion,
Inspiration flowed from her,
And put the pen to motion.
I think that I wrote that kind
Is the greatest thing anyone
Could possibly ever think of me.
Since that day,
Nearly thirty years
Have all but flown away.
Every now and then,
My mind is drawn back.
I find myself understanding
Something that then I lacked.
Though kind is a virtue,
One so many do lack,
If I am honest,
More matter of fact,
Then I would answer it different.
I think instead when I leave a room,
I would rather that people
Instead thought me true.
If you could live in any place or time (or both) where/when would it be?
You stumbled and fell into a hole in the ground. You find yourself in a new time /place(the one from the question above). You are alone with nothing more than what is usually in your pockets /purse. What are you going to do? Where will you go?
Would you seek to return home? And why? Is it something or someone you want to return to?
Lastly, what sort of adventure will it take to return home? What adventure if you stay? What changes will your presence cause in the timeline?
Good writing! 😍
Ok. I have stated before that I use my phone for everything. I have a computer, it is a little outdated and slow, but I do have a system. Though I love computers, I rarely use mine. Why, you ask? Simple. I despise Windows 10. I ended up with a crappy copy of Ubuntu Linux… And I just got frustrated. So when I got this system I left windows alone. I prefer open source programs. In the first days of my owning computers I was rigid. I had to get certain programs, and there was no substitutes. Since I have found an open source for all of what I need to do.
With my system having windows 10 on it… I only used it for layout. It was painful to work on. Tonight I was given access to Linux Mint. I am looking forward to exploring the new os. Yes, I still have a program that requires Windows. Kindle Create by Amazon. It is their layout application. However, Linux has a few windows emulation programs. This allows me to work with the programs that are only found in windows.
So, I am setting up my system tonight. This includes installation of the os, searching for the programs that I need, customizing settings and appearance, and enjoying the “new computer smell” of it all.
So, tell me, what is your os of choice?
Ok… This is a segment that I have been considering. I used to follow hundreds of webcomics. I have gotten behind due to the small screen I am most often working with. It makes checking the pages more difficult. Add in chaos… And I am far behind. I want to change that.
Some of my favorite comics have ended. And I have been needing to update the links. I follow quite a few comic creators on social media. I find them to be fairly interesting people. Well one of my absolute favorite comics is being continued again.
The artist moved on to another comic. He has grown since the first part of his comic. I used to check in daily. He is still one of my favorite creators. His stories are amazing.
I asked if he was only going to update past the summer. He said that he intends to continue on until further notice. I am so excited! He is doing a m/w/f update schedule. His current continuation is called The Legacy of Dominic Deegan. Help me show him that his work is truly appreciated.
What is your own favorite webcomic? And why?
